We accept unsolicited pitches from writers with something to say about a record, a live room, or a scene. We pay per piece and we edit hard, which most of our writers come to appreciate.
How to pitch
Send a proposed headline, three sentences on the angle, and links to two pieces you are proud of. Tell us why this story, why now, and why you. Skip the press-release summary — we can read those ourselves.
What we are looking for
Strong points of view, reported detail, and prose that respects the reader. We are less interested in hot takes than in writing that still reads well a year from now.
